Dear Community Members,
Welcome to the Summer Catalog from our friends at Chelmsford Community Education. Spring is here and our community is engaged in a myriad of seasonal activities. However, it is also the time when we start looking ahead and anticipating and planning summertime fun. Our staff at Community Education has been working hard over the last several months to offer a diverse selection of engaging classes for the community to partake in this year.
The Chelmsford Community Education Center will be a busy place during the day this summer. The sciences are back strong, including courses that will take your child to space or allow them to dabble in chemical magic. The importance of working as a team, to collaborate on scientific discoveries has also been covered.
The arts will be well represented as well. Your child can enjoy learning charcoal drawing or watercolor and pottery painting. In collaboration with the Chelmsford Public Schools Fine and Performing Arts Department, private music lessons will continue to be offered over the summer months; the center will be filled with music!
Lazing around for some of the summer is enjoyable too, however, getting up and keeping in shape is always encouraged! The Community Education Team has put together an assortment of sports for your children. Some skills like lacrosse and soccer will be held at the Center, others like the Summer Basketball League and Field Play will be at the high school.
As always adults have not been left out. There are athletic opportunities as well as artistic classes for you to enjoy, too.
Please take a moment to look inside and discover all the fun and educational opportunities that can be enjoyed in your community this summer.
On behalf of the Chelmsford Public Schools, I wish you a terrific summer season!
Sincerely,
Dr. Frank A. Tiano
Superintendent
