ADULT FITNESS

ADULT TENNIS (Course # 126)
$99-price for 1 evening a week, $178-price for both evenings, McCarthy Tennis Courts

5 weeks, Tuesdays & Thursdays

Instructors: The Next Champions Tennis Staff

Classes are offered on Tuesday and Thursday. Players will be grouped by ability, beginner, advanced beginner, intermediate and advanced. Two five-week sessions are offered, players may play once or twice weekly. Adults are welcome to sign up for one or both of the summer sessions.

LINE DANCE (Course #117)
$38, CommEd RecRoom, Mondays, 11:00 am–12:00 pm
5 weeks beginning July 9
This class is for anyone who wants to learn or loves to dance. In a fun and recreational way, you will learn several line dances, including the recent popular dances, which are considered to be in the top 20 all-time favorite line dances. We'll teach traditional dances such as the Boot Scootin' Boogie, and any other dances that are of interest to students. Instructor: Katrina Rotondi.
ZUMBA (Course #122)

This class is for anyone who wants to learn or loves to dance. Zumba is a Latin-inspired dance fitness class that incorporates Latin and international music and dance movements, which creates a dynamic, exciting, and effective fitness system. The cardio-based dance movements are easy to follow steps that include body sculpting, which targets areas such as gluteals, legs, arms, core, abdominal, and the most important muscle in the body, the heart. Instructor: Katrina Rotondi.

SEWING MADE EASY—SEWING CLASS FOR BEGINNERS (Course #120)
$100, CommEd Room 17
Tuesdays & Thursdays, 9:00–11:00 am
5 weeks beginning July 10 (Age 15+)
This course is designed for those who have always wanted to sew, but never have. The class will cover the basics of sewing including understanding natural vs. man -made fabrics, the basics of a sewing machine, some hand sewing, and understanding the directions within patterns. Students will make their own pin cushion and 1 or 2 garments. Students need to bring their own portable sewing machine, fabric, pattern and notions for projects. Instructor: Joan Murphy.
DRAWING I FOR BEGINNERS (Course #108)

Mondays & Wednesdays, 9:00–11:00 am
4 weeks beginning July 16 (Ages 12+)
Learn the basics of drawing. See how form and shading make your pictures look realistic and three-dimensional. Students will be working with the four basic shapes to create at least two finished pictures with this exciting technique. Students will be responsible for supplies/materials, which will include turpenoid (clear not yellow), drawing pencils (2B, 4B and 6B), colored pencils (Berol, Prismacolor preferred—do not choose "Verithin"), 11x14 sketchpad (spiral bound is best—smooth surface) and erasers (kneaded rubber and hard rubber). This class is a great opportunity to explore and express your creative side! Instructor: Joan Turner.
LEARN TO READ TAROT (Course #114)

Learn how to read Tarot cards! The cards are a guidance tool to advise your family and friends as well as gain insights for yourself. We will be going through each card individually, as well as learning several layouts, including the Celtic cross. Students are responsible for supplying their own Tarot cards. Cards can be found at most book and New age stores. We will be using the Rider deck and referencing the book, "Tarot in Ten Minutes." The book is optional but helpful. Instructor: Joan Turner.
AFTERNOON WITH THE PSYCHIC (Course #103)

1 class, July 17
Enjoy yourself in this three-hour afternoon of psychic interpretation, and readings. The Aura is the energy field around the body! Learn how to “see” Auras and read them. There will be an explanation of colors and symbol interpretations, as seen in the Aura. You will learn how to “read” drawn pictures and calculate your birth number and what that means for you. Each person will have an opportunity to have their Aura read (time permitting). Instructor: Joan Turner.
