Kindergarten/Childcare Programs are located at the Center School for students attending the Center, Harrington and Westlands Schools; and at the Byam School for those students who attend Byam and South Row Schools.
The program fills on a first-come, first-served basis. The $10.00 registration fee and the first month's tuition of $290.00 (total of $300.00) is due with the application.
In order to provide for kindergarten children on their off session, a full school day combined Kindergarten/Childcare (K/CC) Program will be offered at Byam and Center Schools. Center, Harrington and Westlands kindergartners will use the Center K/CC Program, and Byam and South Row kindergartners will use the Byam K/CC Program. The K/CC Program is only available on a five-day per week basis.
Morning session kindergartners who are only using the half-day Kindergarten/Childcare Program can take their regularly scheduled busses to school. At the mid-day break, Center and Byam students will go to the K/CC classrooms in their buildings. Harrington and Westlands children will be bussed to the Center School, and the South Row children will be bussed to the Byam School. At 3:23 p.m., Byam and Center children can take busses home. Harrington, South Row and Westlands children must be picked up by 3:23.
For afternoon session kindergartners who are only using the half-day Kindergarten/Childcare Program: Byam and Center students can take their regularly scheduled busses to school where they will report to the K/CC classroom. Harrington and Westlands children can be dropped off at the Center School, and the South Row students can be dropped off at the Byam School. At the mid-day break, Byam and Center students will go to their kindergarten classrooms, and the Harrington, South Row and Westlands children will be bussed to their schools.
The cost is $290.00 per month and includes a hot/cold lunch and snacks. Payments have been broken down into equal monthly payments for the ten months of the school year, September through June. The first month’s tuition payment is due with this application. Thereafter, tuition payments are due the last day of each month for the upcoming month.
Parents who enroll their children in this program are also eligible to take advantage of the Extended Day Program (7:00 - 9:00 a.m. and/or 3:23 - 6:00 p.m.) for an additional fee. PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION IF YOU ALSO PLAN TO USE THE EXTENDED DAY PROGRAM.
Morning session kindergartners who need before-school care (as early as 7:00 a.m.) can be dropped off at their scheduled elementary school. At the mid-day break, Byam and Center kindergartners will go to their K/CC classrooms. Harrington and Westlands kindergartners will be bussed to the Center K/CC Program. South Row kindergartners will be bussed to the Byam School. Afternoon session kindergartners needing before-school care should drop their children off at their K/CC location.
Center, Harrington and Westlands morning session kindergartners who need after-school care (until as late as 6:00 p.m.) will use the Center School Extended Day Program. Byam and South Row morning session kindergartners who need after-school care will use the Byam School Extended Day Program. Afternoon session kindergarten parents who need after-school care may pick up their children at their scheduled elementary schools.
